Solo Month Long Display at JAMS's Restaurant, Airdrie, Ab

For those who were unaware, some of my art was on display for the month of April, 2022 at Jam's Restaurant in Airdrie. I am super grateful to Jam's, and appreciative of them being a wonderful supporter of local artists. Jam's hosted a Ukrainian dinner night the first Friday in April, to fundraise towards HUGS (Helping Ukraine Grassroots Support). I decided to made two pieces specifically to assist with Jam's fundraiser, and 100% proceeds were donated through Jam's Restaurant to HUGS. The two pieces I donated both sold, and I want to add a huge thank you to the buyers who helped support the cause for innocent people in Ukraine.

One of my pieces donated was, "Vinok", 16"w x 12"h multimedia wall art, on birch wood panel. This piece has an abstract resin art Ukrainian flag as the background, with a textured head crown (vinok), made with dried flora including wheat sheafs, plus genuine gemstones (including tigers eye, citrine, carnelian, smoky quartz, crystal quartz, garnet, red jasper, brown jasper, yellow aventurine, hessonite & more).

The other one of my pieces donated was, "Sonyashnyk", 16"w x 12"h, multimedia piece, on a birchwood panel. This piece also had an abstract resin art Ukrainian flag as the background, and a textured sunflower (sonyashnyk), made with crushed glass and genuine gemstones (including tigers eye, citrine, carnelian, smoky quartz, crystal quartz, rutilated copper quartz, garnet, red jasper, brown jasper, yellow aventurine, hessonite, and more.

And thank you also to the buyers as well, who purchased some of my art that was on display over the month of April at Jam's. I did a happy dance when I learned 5 other pieces had also sold.

I'm hoping to get back to finishing up some pieces that have been put aside, patiently waiting for my final touch ups. I have been missing my creative time lately.

Although I haven't been able to take on too many commissions due to other commitments outside of creating art, I do have a few I'm currently trying to finish up.

Here is a peak at a minimalistic memorial floral preservation piece, 8" x 8" x 3" block, that is almost ready. It needs a light sanding, and then a flood coat, and then this very special, sentimental piece will be ready.

If you happen to be in Airdrie, Ab area, please do drop in to MukLuk Magpies Stained Glass Emporium,

to check out the art I have available in their gift shop gallery. Mukluks is another amazing supporter for over a decade, of many local artists and artisans, in Airdrie.

There is a few other places that may be adding some of my creations to their retail stores again soon. I just need to find time to get caught up on creating, but I will add the gift shop names in the next newsletter blog, and of course update on my social media pages if you follow them too (Facebook, Instagram and sometimes TikTok).

Cheers,

Michele
